Ruth E. Fassnacht, 101, formerly of Ephrata, passed away July 26, 2018, at Brethren Village. She was the daughter of the late Annie K. (Shenk) Corl and Harry D. Corl. Ruth was the loving wife of the late Kenneth C. Fassnacht, who passed away in 2012. Sewing was her life. She worked for many years at Rossenau Brothers in Ephrata making children's dresses. She also sewed shoes at Fleet-Air Corporation for five years. She hand-made three bridal gowns, bridesmaid's dresses, and headpieces. When she moved to Brethren Village in 1994, she did alterations for many people. She continued sewing until age 95 and, at one time, had names of over 100 people for whom she had done sewing at the village. She is survived by a daughter, A.LaVerne Good, a son Ellis D. Wenger (Judy) both of Ephrata, and a son-in-law, Rev. Jack Breidenstine of Palmyra, six grandchildren, Andrew Good (Karen), Joy Albright (David), Angie Breidenstine, Karen Breidenstine-Howe (Greg), Karen Cook (John), Michael Wenger (Kristin), and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five step-children, Dennis Fassnacht (Susan), Sharon Gertler (Richard), Cynthia Zeller, Jerry Fassnacht (Margene), James Fassnacht (Helen), and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty L. Breidenstine, a grandson, Dale E. Good (Polly), and a sister, Grace C. Wolfe (Charles). The family would like to thank Village Manor, assisted living, for five and a half years of excellent care, The Courtyards, Clover Ridge South, for the past year of excellent care and Hospice for All Seasons for helping to make her final days peaceful and comfortable.
