Ruth M. Rudy

Ruth M. Rudy, 96, passed away Monday, February 12th, 2024, at the Ephrata Manor nursing home. Born in West Reading, Ruth was a daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Schmidt) Smith. She was also the loving wife to Wilbur E. “Wip” Rudy for 69 years until his passing in 2018.

Ruth grew up in Blainsport and was a high school graduate of the former Denver High School, class of 1945. Ruth worked as an office secretary for multiple different locations and worked part-time as a bank teller for Ephrata National Bank. Ruth was a lifetime member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ephrata. She enjoyed shopping for new clothes, gardening beautiful flowers around her home, and regular bus trips with the Friendly Circle. She will be missed by her family, church family, and friends.

Ruth is survived by a son, Philip O. (Georgia) Rudy of Ephrata; and two grandchildren, Mason (Meagan) Rudy, Erin (John Mariakis) Rudy. Ruth is predeceased by a sister, Louise Moyer and a brother, Eugene Smith.

Services will be private. Ruth’s final resting place is located at Lincoln Cemetery in Ephrata.
