Sadie Blyth "Sally" Mann

Sadie Blyth 'Sally' Mann, age 101, of East Earl, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania,peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 1:51 pm in Fairmount Homes, Farmersville. Born February 21, 1916 in Tillicoultry, Scotland, a daughter of the late William and Jean (Robertson) Douglas, she was married 52 years to Robert G. Mann, who died in 1989. After several years in Canada, the family emigrated to the USA. Living in several Connecticut towns, Sally was a Congregational Church member in each town. A retired office manager with Todd's Department Store, Willimantic, CT,she made many lifelong friends while working there. Sally and Bob moved to Port Orange, FL to care for her father, where they were founding members of the Port Orange Christian Church. They spent many hours fund raising for the church's construction. They loved traveling; Scotland, England, many countries in Europe, and extensively throughout the 48 states in their VW camper. Sally was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox Ted Williams. Fiercely independent, she lived with 'Josie,' her guide dog, until moving to her son Doug's home in East Earl, PA, due to failing eyesight. A music lover, she played piano and was a Frank Sinatra fan. An avid reader and Mensa member, she enjoyed crossword puzzles. Surviving: sons, Robert D. (Katherine) Mann, Columbia, CT; Gordon W. (Gail) Mann, Hudson, OH; Douglas A. (Karen Fry) Mann, East Earl; grandchildren: Robert Jones, Deborah Jones, Dr. Curtis Mann, Wendy Packer, Ryan Mann, and Justin Mann. Sally was predeceased by a son David sister, Amy Ferguson. All arrangements will be private at her request.
