Samuel K. Woods

Samuel K. Woods, age 93, formerly of Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at 5:50 PM in Gardens at Stevens (Denver Nursing Home). Born in Spring Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Mary (Mekiska) Woods. Sam was a 1942 Shillington High School and 1944 Reading Business Institute graduate and worked as a foreman for the former Yorktowne Manufacturing, Ephrata. Sam served in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a member, former treasurer, council and choir member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed tennis, softball, hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Dorothy M. (Dickersheid) Woods, a resident of Gardens at Stevens; children, Donna, married to Robert Steffy, Denver; son, Gary married to Fran Woods, Mohnton; grandchildren: Jamie, Ian and Megan; and great-grandchildren: Victoria, Tyler, Ethan, Everleigh and Griffin. Siblings, M. Kathleen Sybil and Robert H. Woods, predeceased him. The viewingandfuneral will be held privately at Sam's request with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. Kindly omit flowers.
