Samuel C. “Sam” Martzall, 72, of Akron, passed away on Monday, March 24th, 2025, at the Stoneridge Towne Centre Retirement Community. Born in Ephrata, Sam was a son to the late Chester F. & Virginia (Stevens) Martzall.
Growing up in Adamstown, Samuel was a 1971 Cocalico High School graduate. Following his high school career, Sam served in the United States Army for two years. Sam worked hard, he was a welder by trade and enjoyed his other jobs as a truck driver for both long and short freight hauls, driving school buses, and working as a prison guard. In the early 2000's, Sam moved to Arizona to be closer to his family, later moving back to Lancaster County after a cancer diagnosis to be closer to his children. Through multiple battles with brain cancer, Sam was always a fighter and an overcomer. Putting his best foot forward and looking at the bright side.
Sam is survived by Jaime L. Ringler (Shannon) of Denver and Josh L. Martzall (Cheryl) of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Jade Walker, Sydney Ringler, Walter Martzall; two great grandchildren, Kingston Walker and Azaiah Walker; three brother, Barry Martzall, Gerald Martzall, Terry Martzall; and sister, Mary Ann Weaver.
Sam’s final resting place will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
