Stena Rosene "Teenie" Mccarty

Stena Rosene "Teenie" McCarty, age 83, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Ephrata Manor. Born in Martindale a daughter of the late George L. and Edith M. (Ream) Withers, she was a 1948 Ephrata High School graduate and attended Lancaster Business College. Stena was a buyer at Ephrata Community Hospital for 14 years and volunteered in the gift shop after retirement. Earlier she worked for Sperry New Holland and Montgomery Ward. Stena was of the Lutheran faith. She was a 63 year member and Worthy Matron from 1961 to 1962 of the Cloister Chapter #406 Order of Eastern Star, Ephrata, now part of Lititz Springs Chapter. In 1968, she brought the first Chapter of International Order of Rainbow Girls to Lancaster County and served as Mother Advisor & board chairman for 18 years. A member of La Nobels Card Club, she was an avid NASCAR fan and loved cats. Surviving is her brother, George Ream Withers, Shillington; and several cousins. Her husband, Willis H. McCarty, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with The Rev.Jeffrey H. Goodman officiating. Her viewing will be from Noon to 2 PM with an Eastern Star Service at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in Bergstrasse Cemetery, Ephrata.
