Stephen L. Walker, 75, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Stephen was the oldest of four sons born to Roy & Geraldine (Baney) Walker and the loving husband of Ann L. (Eshleman). Stephen and Ann would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this month. Stephen was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Clarksburg, WV. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20-years, with many tours at sea and service during the latter part of the Vietnam War. He moved to Reamstown, Pa, in 1989. Stephen worked for 13 years at the Lebanon VA hospital as a custodian. He later continued his custodial work in the Palmyra School Dist., Cocalico School Dist., and Planet Fitness. He enjoyed bowling, was a member of a few leagues, and that's how he met Ann. Stephen loved people, telling stories, jokes, and making everyone smile. A conversation with Stephen just made the day better. He enjoyed reading old western novels, watching shows like Law & Order and CSI, and he kept up with the daily news. Stephen's contagious smile and friendly manner will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by two stepchildren, Melissa Fisher (Greg) of Lancaster, Jason S. Weidman (Cathlyn) of Denver; and three step-grandchildren, Richard, Grace & Joseph. Stephen was predeceased by his three brothers, Robert Walker, James Baney, and Bill Bowles. Military honors will be held privately. In memory of Stephen's service, memorial contributions are appreciated at Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
