Sue A. Boyd

Sue A. Boyd, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, with her loving granddaughter and caretaker, Samatha Boyd, by her side. Born in Oil City, Sue was a daughter of the late Merle and Helen T. (Sawatsky) Gahring Sr. and was the loving wife to Reverend Paul M. Boyd for 43 years until his passing in 2018.

Sue spent most of her childhood growing up in Lititz. She worked in a shoe factory in Ephrata until she had her four boys and put her entire heart into raising her family. She loved every moment with her children and carried that joy to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her free time, Sue would watch her favorite shows or read her favorite books. Sue’s loving and faithful heart would shine brighter when she was with her family. Her kindness and love which will be deeply missed by all.

Sue is survived by four sons, Paul M. Boyd, Jr, husband of Angela of Lebanon, Elijah P. Boyd husband of Nicole of Lebanon, PA, Isaiah Boyd of Ephrata, PA and Zachariah R. Boyd husband of Kaitlin of Ephrata, PA; 22 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; and brother, George Gahring. Sue is predeceased by nine siblings.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 17th, at 11:30 a.m. at Rothsville Lutheran Cemetery, 36 Church St, Lititz, PA 17543.
