Remembering Viola with Love... Viola E. Haldeman, 90, formerly of Lititz, Lancaster County , died Wednesday, December 8, 2005, at 10:55 PM in Conestoga View, Lancaster, where she resided since June 28. She had previously lived at Cocalico Assisted Living, Denver , for 3 years. Born in East Cocalico Township , Lancaster County , she was a daughter of the late Ivan and Mary (Koch) Weitzel. Her husband, Chester L. Haldeman, died December 25, 1992. A member of Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church , Ephrata, she was employed for 45 years by Ephrata Apparel, Ephrata, until her retirement. She had also worked with her family butcher business and tended market stand at the former Bingeman Street Market in Reading . Known for her baking, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra E., wife of Earl R. Eshleman, Lititz, PA; 3 grandchildren, Susan, wife of Reed Means; Sheri, wife of Tim Brown; and Curtis, husband of Kimberly (Deem) Eshleman; 5 great-grandchildren, Megan Means, Kaitlin and William Brown, and Jacob and Olivia Eshleman; also a nephew, Ivan Weitzel. She was predeceased by a brother, Howard Weitzel. Viewing Funeral Service... Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM from our parlors with her pastor, The Reverend Herbert A. Lohr, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery , Adamstown. The family prefers that flowers be omitted and Viola be remembered with contributions to Bergstrasse Lutheran Church , 9 Hahnstown Road , Ephrata , PA 17522 .
