Virginia (Bowman) Frankfort, of Adamstown, PA, age 92, passed and went to be with her Lord, on March 30th 2021, while at Manor Care Health Services in Sinking Spring, PA. Virginia was the daughter to John (Royer) Bowman and Jennie (Burkhart) Bowman, a daughter-in-law to Harry (Lemon) Frankfort and Anna (Witman) Frankfort, and wife to H. Lee Frankfort until his passing in 1989. Virginia was born and raised in Adamstown. She graduated from the Wilson High school in West Lawn, PA and enjoyed her employment as a telephone operator for the Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown. "Ginnie" and "Lee" knew one another as children and would enjoy, playing in sandboxes with other neighborhood kids, take a walk down to the local general store for some penny candy, and loved to visit the local soda fountain. After getting married, Ginnie continued to work for the Bollman Hat Company and then later went to help out her in-law's at the Frankfort's Market in Adamstown. In addition to selling groceries, they sold dog licenses, fishing licenses and hunting licenses. Her father-in-law, Harry, had been a Justice of the Peace and, also, started selling insurance in the back section of the store. When Harry & Anna moved to a new location on Willow Street in Adamstown, Ginnie & Lee had set up housekeeping right next door. So, when Lee worked for AEtna Insurance in Reading, PA, Ginnie remained in Adamstown continuing to help out her in law's. In the early 1960's, Lee accepted a job promotion in Hartford, Connecticut where the family remained until the early 1970's at which time a decision was made to return to Adamstown to take over his father's insurance business. While living in Glastonbury, CT, Ginnie was very active with her church, Faith Lutheran in East Hartford. She participated in many activities, loved to help out with the "coffee and" refreshments and supported her husband, Lee, as the President of the congregation. Another fond memory was the street she lived on, Carriage Drive. From neighborhood cookouts, to neighbors helping neighbors, to having their very own street Memorial Day parade, much fun was always to be shared. Throughout all the years that Ginnie & Lee lived in Adamstown, moved to Connecticut and then their return to Adamstown, their "card gang" group of friends, the Eshenaur's, the Raab's and the Strause's managed to get together to share in fellowship and much card playing. They would take turns hosting at one another's homes, about every month or so. Their laughter could lift anyone's spirits. Ginnie was an insurance agent, a notary public, an issuer of dog licenses, a great receptionist, secretary and the fastest typist most have seen. Ginnie was also a proud member of the Republican Party, participated in many fundraisers for local candidates, worked at the voting polls in the Adamstown Borough elections and had served as Judge of Elections. Throughout her life, Virginia has been the most caring & compassionate person and has touched countless lives in immeasurable ways. For anyone that knew her, she had the absolute most beautiful smile that would light up a room and always had that special sparkle in her eyes. Virginia has had a rich history with, both, Saint Paul's Church in Adamstown, PA where she was married and attended regularly, and, also, Muddy Creek Lutheran in Denver, PA where she attended Sunday church school as a little girl & returned to many years ago. Ginnie viewed her faith in God as being the center of her life and always lived her life with loving kindness. Ginnie is survived by her two children, David (Kathy) Frankfort of Sinking Spring, PA, Natalie Frankfort (Michael) Howe of Adamstown, PA, one granddaughter, Laura (Benjamin) Archer, two granddaughters by marriage, Nicole (Jarreau) Francis and Michele (Phillip) Assetto, three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ann and Audrey (Archer), three great-grandchildren by marriage, Alexander (Francis) and Nicholas & Christopher (Assetto) and two god-children, Ann Eshenaur Spolarich and William Eshenaur.
