Remembering "Wally" with Love... Walter A. "Wally" Walmer, 73, of 9 Sharp Avenue , Denver , died Monday, October 2, 2006, at 12:05 PM in Denver Nursing Home, Stevens. Born December 18, 1932, in Lebanon , he was a son of the late Elmer and Bertha (Reigle) Walmer, and was the husband of Linda F. (Schlegel) Walmer for 43 years. A member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church , Denver , he was a 1952 graduate of Scotland School for Veterans, Franklin County . He was Korean War Marine Corps veteran. Retiring in 1991, he had worked 30 years as a block truck driver for Kurtz Brothers, Denver , and worked and assisted in the construction of Chapel Hill Golf Course, Sinking Spring, until 2003. Wally was a past president of East Cocalico Lions Club, Reamstown, a former member of Woodchuck Hollow Hunting Lodge, Sullivan County , enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, softball and his truck. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Curtis D., husband of Susan L. (Conley) Walmer, Mohnton , PA ; 2 daughters, Pamela L. Walmer, Reading , PA ; and Betsy N., wife of Edward Serp, Baltimore, MD; 3 grandchildren, Daneen, Benjamin and Bradley; 2 sisters, Miriam Lancaster and Arlene McCleaf; and 3 brothers, Robert, Harold and Earl. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Elmer, Eugene and Herbert. Visitation Memorial Service... Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006, at Noon from Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church , 357 Walnut Street , Denver , PA 17517 , with The Rev. Larry G. Hummer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
