Remembering Walter with Love... Walter John Leonard, 79, of 78 Scenic Drive , Denver , died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 6:00 PM in Lancaster Regional Medical Center , Lancaster , where he was a patient for three days. Born December 6, 1926, in Philadelphia , he was a son of the late George and Sarah (Garrity) Leonard, and was the husband of Rita M. (Wischart) Leonard for 50 years. A member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, he was a truck driver most of his life. Walter was a Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughter, Patricia, wife of Keith Alesin, Mohnton; and Mary, wife of Richard Mikus, Denver; 3 sons, Michael Leonard, Denver; John Leonard, Lancaster; and James, husband of Kim Leonard, Conshohocken; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Viewing Funeral Mass... A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 15, 2006, from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Church Pine Streets, Ephrata, at 11:00 AM with final commendation and farewell in Cedar Hill Cemetery , Ephrata. A viewing will be held in the foyer of the church an hour prior to the mass. The family requests that contributions in Walter's memory be sent to the ALS Association, 321 Norristown Road - Suite 260 , Ambler, PA 19002.
