Remembering Warren with Love... Warren S. Ansel, age 90, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, PA 17522. Born in Reamstown, a son of the late Alvin and Daisy (Wolfskill) Ansel, he was married over 60 years to Elizabeth "Betty" (Young) Ansel, who died October 25, 2010. Enlisting in 1942, Warren bravely served during WWII with the 773rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, a component of General Patton's 3rd Army. He fought in the European Campaign, including the Battle of the Bulge and the March to Bastogne . After the war, he worked at Stunzi Silk Mill, Ephrata, and then Faust Turkey Farms, Reamstown. Warren and Betty, owned a small farm near Reamstown where they enjoyed gardening and animals. He loved a good 'debate' about politics or the economy, and was an avid collector of primitive Pennsylvania antiques. Surviving are his six children, Timothy Eugene (Linda Musser) Ansel, Lancaster; Thomas Warren (Nina DiMarzio) Ansel, West Chester; Diane Louise Fichthorn, companion of Scott Cover, Ephrata; Joanne Marie (Christopher) MacMurray, Dumfries, VA; Terry Lee (Margaret Jaskot) Ansel, Lancaster; and Ted Lamar (Nancy Fasnacht) Ansel, Ephrata; 11 grandchildren; & 17 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Warren was also predeceased by a beloved granddaughter, Jenny; a sister, Ruth, and a brother, Eugene. Service Information... Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Chaplain Sally Maxwell officiating. Burial with military honors in Pleasant View Cemetery , Sinking Spring. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Messages Received...
