William E. Kring

November 19, 1932 — March 2, 2003

Remembering William with love... William E. Kring, 70, of 417 Lauschtown Road, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening at 11:04 PM in the emergency room of Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of Catherine E. (Zerbe) Kring, Bowmansville, and the late William F. Kring. He was the husband of Gladys M. (Trupp) Kring for 49 years on April 25, 2002. Kring was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Bowmansville. An army veteran of the Korean War he was a life member of the Adamstown VFW. Bill was the zoning officer for Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, for several years. He had been a self-employed general contractor for many years and was the developer and former owner of Brookside Mobile Home Park, Bowmansville. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and had been an electric base guitar player for the Royalaires, a well-known local band. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are 2 sons, Randolph E., married to Terri E. (Mountz) Kring; and Rod L. Kring, both of Mohnton; 4 grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy A. (Kring) Caffrey, married to Nicholas G. Schafer, New Holland, PA. A brother, Wilbert A. Kring, preceded him in death. Viewing Services... William's viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, March 5, 2003, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlors. The casket will also be open prior to the service on Thursday. The funeral will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2003, at 1:00 PM with his pastor, The Reverend Robert A. Witmyer, officiating. Burial will follow in Bowmansville Union Cemetery, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, PA.
