Remembering Bill with Love... William J. "Bill" Womer, 77, of 545 Hopeland Road , Stevens, Lancaster County , died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at 7:40 AM in the Ephrata Community Hospital where he was taken after becoming ill while walking near his home. (natural) Born April 2, 1927, in Zerbe, Schuylkill Co., son of the late Leroy Francis (White) Womer, he was husband of the late Elaine H. (Woll) Womer, who died in 1998. A member choir member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Kleinfeltersville, Lebanon County, he retired in 1989 after 28 years as general mine foreman of Bethlehem Steel Corp., at both their Cornwall Grace Mines, Morgantown. A WWII Navy veteran he was a life-member of Amateur Trap Shooters Assoc., Vandelia, Ohio, and The Ephrata Lodge #665 Free Accepted Masons. Bill was a longtime caretaker of Hopeland Cemetery enjoyed walking,. Survived by daughter, Jean (Womer), wife of Donald E. Moyer, Stevens; 2 grandchildren, Donald Jr., husband of Blushiree Moyer Tyrone Moyer, a great-grandson, Donald Mizzoni; a sister, Florence Tobin, Tremont. Also predeceased by a son, William Womer, Jr. earlier this year.
