We Honor the Memory of... William P. Kauffman William P. Kauffman, 80, of 3 Hill Road, Manheim, Lancaster County, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, died Tuesday morning at 7:20 AM in the Ephrata Community Hospital where he was a patient five days. Born in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Amos E. and Edith M. (Cooper) Kauffman. His wife, Lorraine E. (Usmiller) Kauffman, died September 20, 1997. Last working in 1999, he was employed by the former Pharmhouse, Ephrata, and Redners Warehouse Markets, Ephrata, for many years; continuing part-time after retirement. He had worked previously as an adjustor for various auto repair shops in the area. Kauffman was an Army veteran of World War II, having taken part in the invasions of New Guinea, Morotai and the Phillipines. He was a member of the Adamstown VFW, the Reamstown Athletic Association, was an avid reader, former hunter and a fan of NASCAR. Many years ago he was a Cub Scout Pack Master and coached Midget Baseball both in Denver. Surviving is a daughter, Freda D., married to Ken Goetze, Glenmore, PA; 2 sons, William J., married to Joan M. (Herzog) Kauffman, Manheim, PA; and Philip P., married to Cynthia A. (Garber) Kauffman, Ephrata, PA; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Amos J. Kauffman. Viewing Funeral... Bill's viewing will be held from our parlors on Thursday evening, October 10, 2002, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The funeral ceremony will begin at 7:30 PM with The Reverend Dennis L. Trout officiating.Private entombment will be held by the family from Memory Gardens Mausoleum, East Cocalico Township, PA, with Red Rose Veteran's Honor Guard of Lancaster conducting military honors.Flowers are welcome and you may also remember Bill with contributions to The American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
